Personalise!

I’ve spent the last three months reaching out to companies with no success. The reason? I wasn’t personalising my emails. Once I started personalising them, I immediately began booking meetings.

This was a big mistake, considering it’s common knowledge that you should personalise your emails. I’d call this an easy lesson, hard learned and I’ll aim not to mess up the basics again or take so long to fix mistakes.

It’s easier not to personalise, which is exactly why most people don’t bother. But how can you stand out if you behave like everyone else? You can’t. Personalisation is the key to standing out.

Here’s the structure I’m currently using:

Hi {name}

{personalised intro}

{relevant pain point or challenge}

{CTA}

I’m sure there are better structures out there, but for now, we’ll see how this performs.
